Grandma Nellie Dayton

Some may not believe that you can have a childhood memory as early as this memory, but I vividly can picture grandma Nellie. I was born in May 1961 and Grandma Dayton passed away on August 31, 1963. Therefore, as you can see I was a very young child when she returned to our Father in Heavens care. The only thing I can remember of Grandma Dayton was that I would visit their home as a child. They only lived one block away from my home so she would let me stay and play while my parents returned home. After playing she would walk me to home. The memory I have is of her walking me to the corner of Center street and 2nd west, which was the point where she could visibly see my home and the front door. Grandma would walk me to that point then she would stand and allow me to show how grown up I was by letting me walk the rest of the way home. I still see her sweet face standing on the corner watching me as I looked back from my front porch. This is the only memory that exists of my Grandmother Dayton.
